Marañon The new
Marañon shop in Barcelona "Un Mundo de Hamacas"
has opened on the 24th of September 2003, "el día
de la Mercé," the celebration day of the patrona
of Barcelona:

The shop is run by Amalur and Jan, a Basque-Dutch couple who have lived and worked several years in Latin America where they discovered the commodity and beauty of the hammock. A large collection of quality hammocks and hanging chairs from Colombia, Mexico, Brazil, Nicaragua, India and Venezuela are exposed and can be tried out in the 70m2 shop. All accessories like hooks, ropes, hammock-stands, mosquito nets and ultra-light travel hammocks can be found as well.
How to get there
Un Mundo de Hamacas is located in the historical centre (Ciutat Vella), just 25 meters off "la Rambla," neighbouring El museo de Cera (Wax museum) and the famous bar "el Bosque de las Fades". Walking down the Rambla towards the harbour of Barcelona, you will find the shop in the last side street on the left at 2 steps of the Colon Statue (see maps in the link "LUGAR" on the top of the page).
Opening hours from Monday 'till Saturday. 10.30 –14.00 hrs. and 16.00 – 20.00 hrs.
